What if a restaurant had you nostalgic for a place you’ve never been? That’s what LIVIN and Málà Project set out to do: to create a plant and floral design that evokes, not exotifies, a wistful, Chinese aura. From tiny clay sculptures burrowing in Chinese greens to old tea tins repurposed as planters, LIVIN seamlessly weaves Chinese design motifs into a classical NY space.


Fun facts: Take a close look in the backyard of the East Village location and you’ll see dried birdseye chilis nesting in a bird cage!

The Midtown East location has a trellis designed for long-term plant growth—a reflection of the ongoing care and partnership between Málà Project and LIVIN.
